Founder of Interzone, Robert J. Spencer (aka Rj or Ahrjay) is a game industry veteran with a wide range of strategic, sales and business development experience. Before co-founding Interzone, Robert was Strategic Business Manager of BigWorld, where he worked with numerous developers on a range of massively multiplayer online games, continuing his long association with online game development that started with a groundbreaking prototype in 1994. Robert has also launched and published (and—at times—edited and managed) three high quality computer games magazines and accompanying websites, including Australian PC Gamer and PC Games Plus, a title simultaneously published in the US, UK, Australia and Canada.
Robert was once crowned Cyber World Leader by Anthill magazine. He is currently the CEO of Binary Culture, a digital infrastructure software developer, President of Spinfast, a game studio, Chairman of the International Game Developers Association’s Perth Chapter (IGDA Perth) and the Nullarbor games competition, plus sits on several advisory boards including WA’s Innovation Advisory Panel and the Leading Lights Organising Committee.
